FACT for FACT fans: It is rare for a baleen whale to get beached, it is much more common among toothed whales and dolphins/porpoises. Their respective habitats and social organisations are the main contributory factors for this.
Both entertaining and educational...A.L.B.B is entering new fields with this post. Topical too (although the wrong species as Prof Phil points out. Bravo Professor Kev... the wide eyed alarm in the whale's face is the clincher to the gag!
that and they really don't care for the holiday shore crowds. all those timothy white spf'd slicked tourists. "-)
i can see BOTH sides of your drawing mind, kevin! the precise draftsman, on those excellent dd buses and then your whimsical lighter lines, the whale! a wonderful contrast! "-)
Whales are mammals, they have lungs and they breath air. They can't survive on land because their bodies aren't designed to support themselves without the buoyant environment of water and would collapse under their own weight , and also they will overheat and dry out. Your joke makes no sense, do a little research next time.
Nice sketch Kev, and a good joke. :)
